WELCOME

Welcome to the Personal Search Page, a specialized web page which allows you to send out queries to various search engines quickly and easily. This page, unlike most others, is designed to reside on your computer, providing super fast access. You don't have to wait for it to load over a slow Internet connection.

It is strongly recommended that you make the Personal Search Page your "home page" or "Start Page", especially if you don't already have another home page, or are using your browser's default home page. If you already know how to do this, you may continue on to the Personal Search Page; otherwise, please follow these steps:

Netscape Navigator

• Click the "Continue" link below to get to the main portion of the Personal Search Page. You may want to print these instructions first.
• Select the location of the site by selecting all of the text in the "Location" area near the top of the window. If you don't have a location area, go to the Options Menu and choose "Show Location".
• Copy the text. (Choose Copy from the Edit menu.)

• Go into the General Preferences under the Options Menu and click the "Appearance" tab.
• Delete the current home page location, and paste in the new one (press Control-V on Windows 95 or Command-V on the MacOS).
• Click "OK" to save the change.
• You're Done! Now, every time Netscape starts up, you will see the Personal Search Page.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

• Click the "Continue" link below to get to the main part of the Personal Search Page. You may want to print these instructions first.
• From the View Menu, choose "Options..."
• Click on the "Navigation" tab.
• In the "Customize" section, make sure the drop down menu says "Start Page" and then click the "Use Current" button.
• Click "OK" to save the change.
• You're Done! Now, every time Internet Explorer starts up, you will see the Personal Search Page.

TIP: Internet Explorer also gives you the option of a custom Search Page. If you already have another Start Page and you don't want to change it, you may want to make your default Search Page the Personal Search Page. To do so, follow the same steps as above, but choose "Search Page" instead of "Start Page" from the drop-down menu in the Customize section.
